State Police are looking for 31 year old Yishiro Hamata, also Known as Tyrell Avery Rogers from Morris, who has been missing since June 16th. Hamata is described as a black male, 6’ 1”, weighing between 285 – 300 pounds, last seen wearing a gray pullover sweatshirt, jeans and black shoes. Hamata has a tattoo on his left arm of the initials “KOC” with red stars going down from the letters. He also has a tattoo on his right inner forearm of a Japanese symbol for the word phantom. Police reported that on June 18th, they responded to a report of unoccupied 1995 Chrysler Cirrus parked on Pat Farley Road in the Town of New Berlin, belonging to Hamata, anyone with information can call State police at 561-7400.

Governor Cuomo today announced resurfacing projects will be completed this year on approximately 428 lane miles of state highways across New York. Funding for these projects was accelerated into this construction season in order to repair widespread damage from deep frost over the winter. These projects are in addition to more than $437 million in capital construction funds dedicated to paving an estimated 2,311 miles of state roads in the 2015-2016 State Fiscal Year. In the Southern Tier, projects include: State Route 206 from Interstate 88 to Butts Road in Bainbridge, Route 206 from Case Road to Railroad Avenue in Bainbridge, & Route 41 from Parker Road in the town of Sanford to the Chenango County Line in the town of Colesville.

Governor Cuomo announced that New York State residents and visitors may fish for free without a fishing license in any of the state’s 7,500 lakes and ponds and 50,000 miles of rivers and streams during the weekend of June 27-28. Saltwater anglers may also fish in marine waters for migratory marine fish species without enrolling in the Recreational Marine Fishing Registry. In addition to the June free fishing weekend, legislation signed by Governor Cuomo now allows for an increase in the number of authorized yearly statewide free fishing days. This year, Veteran’s Day, November 11, has also been designated as a free fishing day.

State Police arrested 48-year-old Jonathan Bakker of Walton for DWI & Unlawful Possession of Marihuana and other vehicle violations. Troopers responded to an Otsego County 911 report of an injured motorcycle driver leaving the Taylor Mini Mart, on State Route 28, in Milford, after he had crashed. Troopers stopped the motorcycle on I-88 in the Town of Oneonta. Troopers accused Bakker of driving while intoxicated, unlawfully possessing marihuana and wearing an illegal helmet. Bakker was transported to A. O. Fox Hospital for his face and head lacerations, he consented to blood test for alcohol, the lab results are pending. Bakker faces court action in Town of Oneonta Court on July 7th.

Police in Syracuse are investigating a case where a decomposed Human skull with no jaw attached, was found in a dumpster by construction workers who were working at a Wegman’s Supermarket last week. The Syracuse Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit, Criminal Investigation Division detectives and the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s office responded.
