State Police at Oneonta arrested 34 year old Gerard Knutsen of South New Berlin for Driving While Intoxicated. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on State Route 23 in the Town of Laurens, Knutsen was arraigned in the Town of Laurens Court and remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $500 cash bail.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputies received a report of a Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident at 273 Arbor Hill Road in the Town of Delhi. A vehicle went off the highway and struck a vehicle in a garage owned by Kenneth Pile, it was shoved into another vehicle parked inside the garage, damaging both vehicles. The investigation led deputies to COPART AUTO AUCTION, in Marlboro, New York, where a suspect vehicle was ready to be sold at auction. Based evidence left at the scene, Deputies were able to identify the 2003 Kia involved in the accident, Deputies identified 35 year old THOMAS KERN of Walton as the operator of the Kia, Kern was issued tickets for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, speed unreasonable for road conditions, Failure to keep right & Unsafe tires, he faces court action at a later date.

State Police at Norwich arrested 23-year-old Jeffrey Vanderneut of Earlville for Driving While Intoxicated. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop in the Village of Sherburne; Vanderneut was issued Tickets returnable to the Village of Sherburne Court on May 9th.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputies investigated a car vs. motorcycle accident on State Highway 206 in the Town of Masonville Wednesday. 62-year-old James Newton of Norwich rear ended a stopped car and was thrown from his motorcycle. Newton suffered multiple unspecified injuries; he was air lifted to the Albany Medical Center by a Life-Net Helicopter for further treatment.

Delaware County Deputies arrested 27-year-old Amber Armstrong of Walton for 2nd degree Harassment regarding an incident in the Town of Walton on April 19th with another male subject. Amber Armstrong was issued a Criminal Summons by the Town of Walton Court returnable on May 8th.

NYSEG will present its “Power of Safety” program this week to approximately 300 fourth-graders from five Oneonta-area schools. The program will be at NYSEG’s Country Club Road facility. The program is based on fourth-grade curriculum and includes a video, discussions about electrical safety and NYSEG’s powerful live-line demonstration.

Motorists are advised that road work will occur on Front Street between Prospect Street and Bevier Street, on Prospect Street near Mygatt Street, and on Chenango Street between Moffatt Avenue and Sturgess Street in Binghamton for the remainder of the week. Work will be performed between 7:00 AM to 5:00 daily from Monday April 29th to Friday May 3rd, weather permitting.
