The Otsego county sheriffs department arrested 3 people on drug charges Thursday in Oneonta. Charged were 44-year-old John Nack and 23-year-old Kristin Manwarren face multiple charges for criminal possession of a controlled substance. Manwarren was also charged with criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, 32 year old John Sanfilippo of Davenport, was charged with 3rd degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument. All face court action shortly.

Oneonta officials reported that water service interruptions would be experienced during the repair of a water main break. The Public Service Department will be repairing a water main break located in front of 243 Chestnut Street tomorrow; a temporary water service interruption will be experienced between North Fonda Ave and Lewis Ave, including Telford Street, Thorn Street and Lewis Ave. City officials say these residents will be notified directly via the city’s automated telephone notification system. DPS plans to maintain one-lane traffic for the duration of the repair.

State Police at Sidney arrested 19-year-old Rocco Parrella of Otego for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. The arrest resulted from a vehicle stop in Otego; Parrella was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Otego Court on December 6th.

Syracuse based Byrne dairy announced that they would build a yogurt plant in Cortlandville in Cortland County. Byrne is purchasing a 127-acre parcel of land to build that plant; they hope to be operational by the middle of next year.

State Police at Sidney arrested 27-year-old Brandon Behory of Deposit for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on State Route 7 in Afton; Behory was issued an Appearance Ticket for the Town of Afton Court on November 26th.

State Police at Sidney arrested 26-year-old Robert Harvey of Afton for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on Kelly Road in Bainbridge; Harvey was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable in the Town of Bainbridge Court on December 10th.

Governor Cuomo & state leaders are going to have to improve the state’s responsiveness in all aspects to severe weather, following 3 major storms and millions of dollars in damage all across the state, from hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee and Hurricane Sandy:

Cuomo announced the formation of three commissions last week, who will study the issues and make recommendations to overhaul and improve New York State’s emergency preparedness and response capabilities, those recommendations are due to the Governor by January 3rd.

The National Circus of the People’s Republic of China will be live on stage at Binghamton University’s Anderson Center for the Performing Arts tonight at 8:00 PM. The show features 48 contortionists, jugglers, aerialists and magicians; some tickets are still available at the Anderson Center
