Public Comments Sought On Draft State Permit Applications For the Proposed Constitution Pipeline Will Be Accepted now through January 30th, 3 Public Meetings to be held in January. An Oneonta meeting will be held on January 13th at 6:00 pm at the SUNY Oneonta Lecture Hall in IRC #3, & in Cobleskill, Wednesday, January 14th at 6:00 PM at SUNY Cobleskill, Bouck Hall Theater. The Chenango County Sheriffs department arrested 60-year-old Richard Graef of Columbus for Harassment, obstruction of governmental administration, and resisting arrest. Graef was charged following a traffic stop in the Town of Columbus for a moving violation, he exited the vehicle, began threatening the deputy and subjected the deputy to unwanted physical contact, interfered with the official duties while the deputy was conducting the traffic stop, and then resisted arrest while being placed into custody. Graef was arraigned in the Town of Columbus Court and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of cash bail. Graef is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Columbus Court at a later date.

The Chenango County Sheriffs department arrested 38-year-old Richard Small of Cortland for Promoting Prison Contraband. Small is accused of attempting to hide narcotic prescription medications on his person while remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility. Small was processed and will appear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.

State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley led a coalition of 17 states to file a brief in the U.S. Supreme Court urging them to uphold the interpretation of the federal Fair Housing Act. The Inclusive Communities Project had proven a low-income housing tax credits program resulted in a disparate impact on African-American residents in violation of the Fair Housing Act. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments in the case on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.
