Governor Cuomo deployed 250 National Guard members to help residents and businesses impacted by flood damage in the Mohawk Valley. Guard members along with 27 pieces of heavy equipment will be deployed to affected areas to help with debris removal and security.

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force initiated a plan to target heroin users and heroin dealers in attempt to deter future crimes and to deter potential narcotics use. During a 2-day initiative, the Task Force arrested 16 people on a total of 35 associated charges, after executing 7 search warrants & 8 outstanding Warrants. Police confiscated 97 envelopes of heroin & over $11,000 in cash. The investigation is continuing, more arrests are expected.
