Investigators are still trying to determine what started the fire at the Otego Agway building Saturday night.  The vacant building was destroyed, firefighters from Otego Oneonta, Wells Bridge and Treadwell assisted, no injuries were reported.  Anyone with information is asked to call the county Emergency Services Office at 547-4227, the sheriff’s office tip line at 547-1690, or by email at sherifftips@otsegocounty.com.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced a multi-agency narcotics crackdown that led to a 226-count indictment charging 31 defendants with distributing large quantities of cocaine throughout the Capital Region, which was imported from New York City. Two of the defendants have also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder after wiretaps uncovered a murder plot.  All of those arrested lived in the Albany & Schenectady area.
