Chenango county sheriff’s department arrested 2 county residents on charges of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property & Criminal Possession of a weapon. Charged were 22-year-old Samuel Ackermann of Norwich & 24 year old Thomas Ackerman of Otselic following an anonymous phone tip of stolen firearms taken from the town of Smyrna. Thomas Ackerman had previous felony convictions and could not legally posses a firearm. Both were already being held in the Chenango County Jail on separate charges, they were arrested, arraigned & were remanded back to the County Jail on cash bail pending future court action.

Chenango county sheriffs department arrested 50-year-old Alice Seibert of Earlville for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and a public health law violation. Seibert was charged following an investigation into a suspicious vehicle at a business in the Village of Smyrna, where she allegedly possessed medication that she did not have a prescription for & for not having it in its original container, she was processed and released & will appear in the Village of Smyrna Court at a later date.
