State Police will conduct a week-long enforcement initiative targeting speeding and aggressive drivers across the state. The “Speed Week” campaign runs today through April 24th & fines for speeding and aggressive driving can reach nearly $1,000 and add up to 11 points on a driver’s license.  Troopers will also be watching for vehicle occupants who are not properly buckled up, drivers that are violating the “Move Over Law,” and distracted or impaired drivers.

A Parole Absconder was arrested in the Town of Hamden on Wednesday morning following an investigation by members of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, the State Division of Parole & State Police assigned to the Unites States Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force.  32 year old John Cumo of Walton is a Level 3 Sex Offender, he was arrested on a Parole Warrant charging him with Violation of Parole, he is accused of removing of a GPS monitoring device from his body early Tuesday morning, Police located Cumo hiding in a garage in Hamden Wednesday morning.  Cumo was taken into custody without incident.  Additional charges are pending relating to the forcible entry and damages to the garage and residence during his attempt to elude law enforcement.

Chobani announced that they have begun exporting to markets in Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, beginning with Singapore, Malaysia and Panama.  Also, in just over 1 year, Chobani has grown its Australian production from 25,000 cases a week to 25,000 cases per day and has become one of the biggest yogurt manufacturers in Australia.

Motorists are advised that State Route 17 westbound between Mygatt Street & Airport Road, & will be reduced to 1 lane beginning at 9:00 this morning.  Crews will be removing temporary construction materials used at the Prospect Connector Bridge, work will be performed through 3:00 PM.
