Governor Cuomo announced actions to strengthen penalties for texting-while-driving that went into effect Saturday. The Governor has directed the State Police to increase enforcement of the texting-while-driving ban during the summer with more checkpoints and additional troopers on patrol. The new penalties can be viewed at governor.ny.gov.
