NYSEG announced this morning that they were down to just 10 customers without power in the 9-county Oneonta division, following Friday night’s storm. Approximately 10,800 customers who were without power at the peak Friday night.

State Police have arrested 51 year old Joyce Mitchell of Dickinson Center for providing material assistance to Richard Matt and David Sweat to assist them in escaping from Clinton Correctional Facility. Mitchell was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband and Criminal Facilitation

A City of Norwich resident was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Deputies arrested 21 year old Jesse Dann following an investigation into the sale of drugs on the premises at a business in the Village of Sherburne, he was found to be in possession of heroin, Dann was taken into custody, processed, arraigned, and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional facility on bail & he is scheduled to reappear in the Village of Sherburne Court at a later date.

Chenango County Sheriff’s department arrested 2 people on a variety of drug charges. Deputies arrested 25 year old Michael Mack of Utica following a traffic stop in the Town of Norwich, he was a passenger in the motor vehicle and was allegedly smoking marihuana during the traffic stop, and he was also accused of possessing an amphetamine based drug. Also charged was 31 year old Kristine Tiffany of Norwich, who was a passenger in the same motor vehicle, Mack & Tiffany was processed and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional facility on cash bail. Both will reappear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.
