The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force & Binghamton Police arrested Jerell Thompson of 21 Baxter Street following a search of his apartment.   Police confiscated 30 envelopes of heroin and over $1,000 in cash, Thompson is accused of tampering with evidence by swallowing cocaine, he was taken to and area hospital for treatment, he was treated, released and was remanded to the Broome County Jail on various drug charges.

Today is the first day of the 2013 trout and salmon fishing season.  This year, Governor Cuomo is urging New Yorkers of all ages to participate in the NY Open for Hunting and Fishing initiative, where Groups and organizations that desire to conduct a clinic must follow guidelines developed by DEC. The guidelines and application to conduct a free Sport fishing Clinic can be found on DEC’s website at dec.ny.gov. Applications must be returned to DEC for review and approval at least 30 days prior to the date of the event.
