The Otsego County Sheriff’s Department & DEA Agents arrested 53-year-old John Laing of Unadilla for criminal possession of marijuana and unlawfully growing of cannabis by an unlicensed person. Laing is accused of having a marijuana growing operation at his residence, investigators confiscated over 10 pounds of marijuana, 95 marijuana plants, 54 cloned marijuana plants, $10,000 in growing equipment, and $3,100 in cash. Laing was taken to the Otsego County Jail pending court action; 36-year-old Steven Carpenter of Guilford was also arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana.
