State troopers arrested 41-year-old Todd Utter of Whitney Point for unauthorized use of a vehicle. The arrest resulted from a complaint on State Route 11 in Whitney Point on November 11th where Utter had allegedly taken a person’s car without permission. Utter was located in the town of Chenango; he was arrested and was arraigned & was remanded to the Broome county jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.

State police at Oneonta arrested 45-year-old Carolyn Murray of Oneonta for driving while intoxicated with a reportable BAC result of .17%. Police said that a trooper responded to the Oneonta court for the report of an intoxicated woman who was observed leaving the building and tried to drive away. A town constable stopped Murray until state police arrived; she was issued tickets for Oneonta town court on December 17th.

Norwich police arrested 21-year-old Glen Potter of Norwich, for felony 2nd degree unlawful surveillance. Potter is accused of taking pictures of a woman while she was in a bathroom; he faces court action on the charge shortly.

State Assemblyman Jim Tedisco is proposing legislation to crack down out the violent “knockout game” in which youths “sucker punch” innocent bystanders for kicks. Tedisco said that his bill would make the game a gang assault with a sentence of up to 25 years, & the Youths would be able to be charged as adults.
